Sadly, most of us were taught from an early age to not be selfish and put others first. Always be considerate of other people and their feelings.
While this all seems to be proper and noble behavior, the fact is ignoring your own needs and care will only backfire at some point down the road.
You’ll feel lost, burned out and alone.
Without the ability to find love within yourself, you end up looking for love in places where you will never actually be satisfied.
This can lead to drug addictions, bad relationships, being a workaholic, low self-esteem, alcoholism, depression, etc.
With our fast-paced lives today, You are constantly on the run. You have to be.
You have lunches to prepare, figure out dinner, remember the grocery list, clean, do the wash, and get to work yourself.
Aughhh!… Stop it!
Do you realize, the most important relationship that you will ever have in your life, is also the one relationship you are most likely to ignore?

Self-love is not a luxury to be delayed. Nor is it at all a selfish act. If, by chance, anyone should ever tell you that it is,…Just Ignore them and believe in yourself.
There could be so many reasons that bring you to realize that, you need to give yourself attention.
With so many challenges in life today, we can tend to be not so kind to ourselves, from career changes, sick kids, bad relationships, work overload, or just stressed out.
The overwhelming fast pace can take its toll on. well. you. Being stressed out constantly and putting everyone else before you all the time will directly affect your health and well being.
Mental fatigue is the main ingredient for low energy, depression, anxiety, and other serious health complications.
Either way, you are recognizing that it is time for a change.
Take the time to give yourself the love and attention you deserve — and the kind that only you can give yourself.
Working to reach your goals, as well as, caring for yourself should be a priority.
When you board a plane, as the flight steward runs through the emergency landing procedures, they always tell you to place your own mask on first.
Primarily because caring for yourself is the foundation and stability of your strength. Without it, you are of no use to anyone.

If you don’t find love in yourself, then you won’t be able to give much love to anybody else.

There are many different paths of self-love you can take, from quiet times alone, doing something you are passionate about, to meditation, and spa treatments.
How to Love Yourself
The act of caring for ourselves first and on a routine basis can also be a huge help to hold you steady when you inevitably stumble in life. As we all do at times.
1 – Practice self-awareness. – Be intentionally aware of your surroundings, your words, thoughts & emotions, especially in tougher situations, your reactions, and your level of kindness.
2 – Practice Mantras and Affirmations. – Mantras and positive affirmations are words or phrases that, when repeated, can bring on a sense of peace, relaxation, meditation, and self-acceptance.
3 – Schedule time for yourself. – Set aside time for you to do something for yourself. Set aside at least 5 – 10 minutes during the day. Practice some yoga and meditation, read a book that you enjoy, learn a new interest or skill.
4 – When you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself something that you like about yourself. Something like, you’re amazing, or you have beautiful eyes. Anything! Just be happy and smile while you say this to yourself in the mirror and just believe in YOURSELF.
5 – Always be positive about yourself and your life. If you find that you have too much negativity in your life, do your best to turn it into positive energy. Always try to have a positive opinion about life. The more positive you are about yourself & your life, the more positive vibes you attract into your life.
